PostDoctoral Positions

Dr. Marianna Patrauchan’s Lab:

  • A post-doctoral position is available immediately to participate in a project investigating molecular mechanisms of calcium signaling. The major objective is to characterize two molecular pathways mediating calcium regulation of virulence in a human pathogen, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The research involves generating constructs for targeted measurements of intracellular levels of calcium, identifying components of signaling cascades, and determining their role in transcriptional regulation and biochemical responses.
  • In addition, the project will involve animal studies in mice to determine the role of the pathways in host-pathogen interactions. A PhD and a strong background in molecular biology and microbiology are required. Preferred qualifications include previous experience with bacterial molecular genetics, RNA and protein work, and animal models. Preference will be given to individuals with proven records of quality publications and to those with potential to obtain independent funding. Experience in mentoring undergraduate students is a plus.
  • The initial appointment will be for one year with potential extension for additional two years contingent upon available funding. Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest, current curriculum vitae, and contact information (names, addresses, and telephone numbers) of three referees to: Marianna Patrauchan, Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics, 307 Life Sciences East, Oklahoma State University Stillwater, OK 74075 USA
